DUI Emphasis Patrols for King, Pierce and Snohomish Counties Announced for St. Patrick’s Day

February 20, 2012 by Tim Milios

The Washington State Patrol DUI has announced it’s schedule of DUI emphasis enforcement from now through the end of the summer of 2012.  Of particular note is that a concentrated emphasis patrol will be in joint effect for King, Pierce and Snohomish counties on and around St. Patrick’s Day.  Particular points of emphasis will no doubt be in areas of high bar and tavern concentration.  Expect to see extra enforcement in downtown Seattle, Fremont, Capital Hill, and Queen Anne Hill in King County.  In Snohomish County, the SR99 will be heavily patrolled.  Pierce County will likely see additional enforcement downtown as well.  In all three counties expect to see the state patrol in large numbers on Interstate 5.

Certainly be safe and don’t endanger yourself or others but also don’t put yourself in a position where you could get stopped and processed for a DUI even if you are drinking responsibly.  Don’t take any unnecessary risks if you have been drinking, even if you are sober.  Designate a driver or take a cab…and have fun.
